1) Introduction to Emergency Cell Broadcasting.mov
A short overview of what cell broadcasting is and why it is interesting in disaster management.

2) Historical problems and their solution.
If it is such a good idea, why has it not been done before? More to the point, how are we going to get the job done now.

3) SMS and Cell Broadcast Compared.
SMS and CB have precicely complementary atributes, here we discuss them.

Presentations

Cell@lert V5 (ppt)
This power point presentation also has speakers and students notes (in the notes page). It covers the need for a new public warning system and the overall concept of how it will be delivered. It then goes into some technical detail as to how cell resolution is done, comparing it with SMS solution. Finally it gives an overview of admission control.

German language presentation (.PPT)
This presentation in the German language is by the Hon Sec of CEASA-CH, and was presented to the Swiss Government conference on Public Warning in Aug 2004.
